End of Internship at Pharmaniaga LifeScience Sdn. Bhd.

On 3th August 2012, my last day of internship, we need to present to the GM and Head of Department of respective departments in the company in the meeting room. We had gone through a short 1-month internship programme yet knowledgeable noesis in our life. We got to know some of the important procedure and flow in the company especially in the production.

In the presentation, they questioned us a lot of questions. From the question and answer, I have learnt the purpose of the pharmaceutical in health care. We need to ensure quality, efficacy, safety, purity of the end products to supply to patients without worry. Series of tested were like leak test, inspection (KNAPP) test, and etc. before final packaging into the cartoon.

Parameters are important and essential to ensure the starting material and the end products are in purity without contamination of fibres, glass pieces, microbes, particles. Then, machines and process need to be validated before the whole batches were formed. Cleaning process is also essential to ensure the machine is always clean and safe for the next batches.

Finally, end of presentation by giving out our payment for us. This 1-month internship so called boring as well as fruitful internship as most of the time we just sat on the training room when there were no activities at there. During the visitation, we took the opportunity to ask as many questions as we could to clear our doubt in our mind. Here was the photo of three of us in production room. Throughout the training no photo was allowed to be taken due to the strict policy of their company.

Spiritual and Holy Month of Ramadan

Fasting is an essential part of the Ramadan month, which is a time of spiritual reflection and worship. Muslims put more effort into following the teachings of Islam and to avoid obscene and irreligious sights and sounds.

The environment in the office felt dull, gloomy, peacefully and quiet. Everyone in the workplace did their tasks in slow pace motion and tiresome.

Muslims need to fast because it can acts as detoxifier, it cleanse off the body from toxins, promote healing since efficiency of cells are enhanced, invigorate the immune system to perform at the maximum state thus promote physical and spiritual well being.

Besides, it is to test their determination level by abstaining from eating and drinking during daylight hours and is intended to teach Muslims about patience, spirituality, humility and submissiveness to God. By doing so, they can bring them closer to God.

Happy Fasting to those who are celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Industrial Training at Pharmaniaga LifeScience, Puchong

Pharmaniaga LifeScience Sdn. Bhd.

Today is my first day of internship or industrial training at Pharmaniaga Lifescience, Puchong for duration of a month effective from 9 July 2012 to 3 August 2012. The main objective of this industrial training is to give us exposure to the working environment of the industrial setting and overview of the industrial organisation. Here is my offer letter, I am pleased and excited that a public listed and well-known company hired me as their trainees.

Offer Letter

During the 4 weeks of industrial attachment, i can be attached to various departments depending on their needs. They may position me in production, packaging, quality control, record keeping or management of pharmaceutical products.

I’m glad that I have training allowance during my internship. Some of my friends don’t even have, they need to bear all the costs, transportation, petrol, meals, etc. RM500 though not that much but at least can reduce my burden for the 1-month spending. J

My working hours is from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm with an hour break in the interval. I prefer everyday is Friday so I can break longer. I only need to work 5 days in a week. So, it doesn’t really count as 30 days but only 20 days, I still can enjoy my weekends… hahaha... What I scare the most is the massive traffic jam that always happens in LDP. I need to wake up earlier to avoid the congestion…OMG…

I have been hectic finding a place for an attachment since beginning of the semester but most of the companies do not accept trainees especially those MNC pharmaceutical companies. At last, Dr. Affendi Dahlan has secured a place for me for the industrial attachment. Thanks for your great help.

On the first day, we need to report to Mr. Mohd Danil, General Manager of Pharmaniaga LifeScience. Then Mr. Arif, HR executive briefed us on the training programme and our placement.

Before briefing, three of us camwhoring at the lobby. We were given assess passes and gate passes to access to various departments.

CIMB Bank Debit Card Reward Voucher

This is the vouchers I redeemed from CIMB during the campaign. This time CIMB more stingy and only ''entertaining'' their loyal customers only. They sent nearly expired vouchers to us for the redemption thingy. Disappointed with their action and i am sure they are not going to beat Maybank forever. CIMB always behind Maybank.

Steak and Dessert Moment

Yesterday went to lunch with Jeremy at Star Village Steak House, OUG. The atmosphere was quite ambient, cozy as well as comfortable. It was quite windy during the noon although the sky was rather hazy this few days. Star Village Steak House has 4 branches located in your vicinity, OUG which is the main branch and other branches; Kuchai Lama, Puchong Jaya, Aman Puri.

Star Village Steak House, OUG

The menu for one-main-course that suits all of us.

Grilled Butter Fish

Grilled Butter Fish with lemon increased the appetite, the fresh butter fish was meant to those on diet due to its low calorie counts.

Cheezy Chicken Chop

Thick gravy cheese topping that melted on the cheesy chicken looked tempting right? The chicken was grilled evenly and the cheese had melted into the chicken…it was so nice as i can felt it with every bites. The cheesy so succulent that stayed in the mouth before slipped to the throat.

The buns and sausages were too soft and nice to taste. The mushroom soup was pleasant-tasting to drink. An iced lemon tea was to chill us during the hot shiny day. The bun tasted even nicer if we dipped it into the mushroom soup.

Set for 2 portions but never enough for me XD

Other delicious and enjoyable dishes served must be tried on the next visit.

After that, we went for some dessert at Pick-Me-Up, Kuchai Lama. I just followed my friend since he always fanatic about Taiwanese dessert. This was the first time i heard about this dessert shop as Taiwanese dessert is not my favourite dessert at all.

Their slogan "Pick Me.Taste Me.Love Me." when i heard...er..it sounds so obscene, don't you think so? hahaha...

This was the Taiwanese Ice Tower, the top layer of the tower was grass jelly ice, then in the middle was palm sugar ice and the bottom layer was soya milk ice. Barley, pearls, taro balls, sweet potato balls and grass jelly were found around the tower.

Then, side condiments of palm sugar and creamer were added to enhance the sweetness of the whole dessert. It looked like a volcano to me with those lava flowing from vent to the base.

Ice Cream Burritos

Another recommended from the shop, the ice cream burritos with three choices to choose; banana, oreo and mango. It just nice with cold and warm combination that filledof nuts and mixture of frozen as well as melted vanilla in the pancake itself.
